Stormwater issues resurfaced at Nixa's Board of Aldermen meeting May 12. Residents of Wasson Place subdivision continue to have sewage backing up into their homes, filling bathtubs and toilets, resident Dennis Glenn said.

With the adjournment of the Missouri General Assembly looming at the end of the week, the future of funding and consolidating 911 dispatching in Christian County hangs in the balance with legislation that has yet to be approved.
Dorinda Daum, Nixa, is pictured with Minnie Mouse at Disneyland in Florida. Going to Disneyland was Dorinda’s dream. Dorinda died of cancer in 1991.

More than 15 years ago, a community came together to fulfill the dreams of one of their own. And now, the dreams of Dorinda Daum, a Nixa resident who died of cancer in 1991, lives on.

Fifty-one times the elder men of Nixa have braved the elements, donned their rubber boots and shirked their day jobs to go "grabbing," and for the 51st time area residents can reap the benefits of their trouble at Nixa's annual Sucker Day celebration May 17.

An Ozark teen received serious injuries May 12 after he was ejected from a vehicle and hit by an oncoming truck on U.S. 160 Highway just south of Nixa.
Tiger stadium: Construction is nearing completion on the Ozark High School stadium. Left, the inside of the locker room. The project is expected to be complete by May 20.

Construction workers began moving dirt at the Ozark High School multi-purpose field in May of 2007, and now a year later, what may be considered the district's crowning jewel is nearing completion.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services' Bureau of Women's, Infants and Children and Nutrition Services recently announced changes to the WIC Approved Food List.

When Nixa residents Gerald and Marilou Daum began canvassing Christian County neighborhoods in search of signatures to place a tax levy on a ballot for a county sheltered workshop, they had no idea that 21 years later Christian County Enterprises would be what it is today.
